Europe charge chrome contracts for 1st quarter settled at 72-74¢/lb.

Contracts for the supply of charge chrome to major European customers during the first quarter of 2005 have been signed at 72 to 74 cents a pound, a rollover from the third and fourth quarters of 2004, ferrochrome market sources said.
Most market players for several weeks had been expecting contracts to be concluded at this level. "It's a sensible compromise--but if the rand stays where it is, producers will have to increase their prices. Margins are under pressure," a ferrochrome....
