Imsa expecting 3.3M tonnes of slab from Corus offtake deal

Grupo Imsa SA de CV's participation in an international slab consortium will net its Imsa Acero subsidiary 3.2 million to 3.3 million tonnes of slab per year and possibly spur an increase in the Mexican mill's coil capacity.

The 10-year accord gives the Monterrey-based flat-rolled producer access to 16 percent of the slab produced at Corus Group Plc's Teesside Cast Products unit in England--about 20 percent of Imsa Acero's slab needs. Other details of the agreement were not immediately available.....
