Nippon Steel, Posco in deal with Fording, Teck

Nippon Steel Corp. and Posco Ltd. have signed a letter of intent with Fording Canadian Coal Trust and Teck Cominco Ltd. to enter into 10-year sales contracts covering an aggregate 4.85 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually from the Elkview and other Elk Valley mines.
Nippon Steel, Tokyo, and Posco, Seoul, South Korea, would see the amount of metallurgical coal they receive increase to 6.25 million tonnes per year in 2007 and beyond.....
