Steel imports up 52% through November

U.S. steel imports rose 52 percent in the first 11 months of 2004 compared with a year earlier, according to data released by the Commerce Department late Tuesday.
Using preliminary import data for November 2004, year-to-date steel imports totaled 29,541,735 tonnes compared with 19,430,496 tonnes in the same period last year. In an anticipated fourth-quarter decline, November steel imports of 2,825,363 tonnes were down 11.7 percent from 3,200,961 tonnes in October.....
