Ontzinc caps Hudson Bay deal, Peebles quits

Ontzinc Corp., Toronto, has completed the acquisition of Hudson Bay Mining & Smelting Co. Ltd. from Anglo American International SA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Anglo American Plc.

Ontzinc had agreed in October to pay Canadian $325 million ($263 million) for the Winnipeg, Manitoba,-based zinc and copper producer.

Ontzinc, which plans to change its name to HudBay Minerals Inc., has taken a number of Hudson Bay directors onto its own board. Norman Anderson, James Ashcroft, Ian Conn, Peter Jones and Allen Palmiere have joined the board of directors, with Palmiere taking over as chairman and Jones as president and chief executive officer.....
