W. Coast coil processor expands in San Diego

A steel processor has taken over a Japanese-U.S. venture near the Mexican border as it continues to expand in the Southwest.
Los Angeles-based NexCoil Inc. has purchased the assets of San Diego Coil Center Inc. from Mitsui & Co. Ltd. of Japan and Mi-Tech Steel Inc. Mi-Tech Steel is a joint venture of Mitsui Steel Development Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., and Louisville, Ky.,-based Steel Technologies Inc.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We have sufficient volume from existing accounts in Mexico to base load the facility and it gives us an excellent opportunity for growth in the continually growing Mexican steel-consuming market," said Fred Morrison, president of NexCoil.....
