SMS Demag unit books degasser orders from China Steel, Anshan

The SMS Mevac division of SMS Demag AG, Düsseldorf, Germany, has received three orders from Asian steel producers.
China Steel Corp., Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has commissioned SMS Mevac to modernize its 250-ton No. 2 and No. 4 Ruhrstahl-Heraeus (RH) rotary degasser plants.
The modernization of the No. 2 plant comprises the installation of a "TOP" multifunction lance for oxygen blowing, expansion of the charging system to make the addition of ferrosilicon more efficient and a capacity increase for the vacuum pump.
