V&M Star eyes tubular expansion

V&M Star is considering expanding its mini-mill in Youngstown, Ohio, to increase the amount and type of tubular products it manufactures.
Although V&M Star, part of Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes Corp., Houston, has submitted an air quality permit request to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, the project remains subject to company approval.
V&M Star indicated in a statement that it was evaluating a site in Girard, Ohio, and Youngstownwhere a current operation existsfor possible expansion of melt and rolling mill operations. The company said that an air permit application has been submitted to the state EPA in concert with its ongoing planning process. The statement said that no final decision....
