Sources U.S. Steel, V&M slash prices by as much as $200 per ton
U.S. Steel Corp. has rescinded a $200-per-ton increase on some tubular products imposed in October, according to market sources.
V&M Star, Houston, was also said to have cut prices by as much as $175 to $200 per ton depending on whether material was carbon or alloy.
A U.S. Steel spokesman said the company only discusses pricing with customers. V&M Star did not respond to a request for comment.....
