WTC drills deeper into energy patch

Welded Tube of Canada (WTC) is moving ahead with a plan kicked off in 2005 to expand into the energy sector, according to a recent announcement.
Concord, Ontario-based WTC says the initial phase of the project will be completed in the first half of 2009 and will expand internal finishing capacity to 125,000 tons per year. Phase I will also see WTC add a high-speed hyrdo testing machine, new beveling and ultrasonic testing equipment and consolidate its OCTG threading operations.
