Triple-S Steel opens branch in California focusing on flat-roll

Triple-S Steel Holdings Inc. has opened its first West Coast branch as the region's steel distribution industry continues to realign.
Houston-based Triple-S confirmed that it has established a new division in Lake Forest, Calif., that will concentrate on supplying flat-rolled steel to other distributors and "selected end-users." The new division, part of the parent company's Intsel Steel West organization, is headed by industry veteran Thomas L. Lawrence.
Lawrence and another industry veteran, Thomas J. Liljegren, until recently had been with Get Steel Inc., a subsidiary of Angeles Welding & Mfg. Inc., a Santa Fe Springs, Calif., plate distributor and processor that was acquired last month by Namasco Corp. Liljegren also left Get Steel to join another company, according to market sources, although the identity of the company couldn't be confirmed by late Tuesday.....
