Pickup in order interest lifts freight rates on China ore routes

Chartering rates for capesize vessels traveling along the main iron ore routes to China have risen as inquiries begin to filter through from Chinese customers, broker sources said.
Interest focused on the Atlantic, the brokers said, reporting two fixtures on the Brazil-China route at higher rates. Rates for these vessels jumped $2 from Monday levels, with the two ships chartered at $27.50 per tonne.....
