Cat and mouse
The cat let the mouse out of the bag, or rather the cage, when a burglar nabbed some stainless steel from a New York state cancer research facility. A researcher at the Cancer Research Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y., discovered that $48,000 worth of stainless steel mouse cage lids were stolen from storage. Jeffrey J. Provost, 25, of Morrisonville, N.Y., is accused by New York State Police of stealing the 600 stainless mouse cage lids, generally made of Type 304 wire, to fit cages that were used to house mice during experiments, and selling them to a scrap dealer for a mere $235. The lids had been in a storage building belonging to Dr. Vinay V. Likhite, director of the facility, according to....
