Scrap company sues city, mayor and building official

Cleveland Scrap has filed suit against the city of Cleveland, its mayor and a building inspector, alleging that they ignored a state appeals court ruling allowing it to remain in business and hindered the company's ability to operate.
In a suit filed in the U.S. District Court for Northern Ohio, Scrap Yard LLC—parent company of Cleveland Scrap—its president, Allen Youngman, and vice president, Jacob Youngman, claim that the city and its officials have harassed the company through local courts.
The lawsuit accuses the city of Cleveland, Mayor Frank Jackson and David Cooper, the city's chief building inspector, of violating the company's civil rights, unlawfully taking its property, interfering with its property rights and operating with negligence and frivolous conduct. The scrap company is asking the federal court to award it $75,000 in compensatory damages and undetermined amounts in punitive damages and legal fees.....
