3d-qtr. stainless output rise questioned by Chinese market

Chinese market participants are skeptical of a reported increase in third-quarter crude stainless data, which according to the Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprise Association (CSSC) rose 5.82 percent to 2.84 million tonnes compared with the previous quarter.
"I previously expected the figure will fall down from the second quarter, because stainless mills . . . all slashed production during the period. I really do not believe the figures," a participant in the primary stainless market of Wuxi said, citing such mills as Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel Co. Ltd, Lianzhong Stainless Steel Corp., Zhangjiagang....
