China's daily crude steel production drops 2 percent in October, Cisa says

China's crude steel output averaged 1.59 million tonnes per day in October, down 2 percent from the previous month, according to estimates by the China Iron and Steel Association (Cisa).

Market participants attributed the decline to continued production cuts aimed at meeting the country's energy savings and emission reduction targets, as well as scheduled maintenance outages by mills. Cisa said that crude steel output is expected to continue to slide....
