Trade imbalance shows up in steel

U.S. exports of goods and services totaled $154.1 billion in September, but imports of $198.1 billion resulted in a seasonally adjusted trade deficit of $44 billion, down 5.3 percent from $46.48 billion the previous month, according to U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis figures.
The iron and steel mill product trade deficit of $347 million in September was down 35.5 percent from a $538-million deficit in August, putting the year-to-date deficit at just above $3.59 billion vs. nearly $1.42 billion in the first nine months of last year.....
