Copper rod premiums boosted by cathode

U.S. copper rod premiums are expected to follow copper cathode premiums higher in 2011, market participants told AMM.
One domestic copper rod buyer, who recently signed a three-month contract, said he was paying just under 12 cents per pound. He heard of rod premium ranges from as low as 10 cents to as high as 15 cents.
"They are waiting for who is the one to make the first move," he old AMM. "I will not be surprised if, in the next few months, you see (rod) premiums go up maybe 1 to 2 cents per pound."....
