China a net moly importer in future Thompson Creek

China will be a net molybdenum importer in the long run, with exports to the United States unlikley to make a significant impact, Mark Wilson, Thompson Creek Inc.'s vice president of sales and marketing, told investors in New York.
"They'd rather export further up the value stream," Wilson said. Prices would have to climb significantly before the country would export molybdenum in large quantities. "In the ($)20s we'd see some movement," Wilson said. Chinese exports are subject to quotas and a 15-percent export tax, making exports at low prices highly unlikely. ....
