Reputed mobster convicted in scrap dealer’s shakedown

A suspected mafia enforcer who traveled cross-country to beat a scrap dealer and force him to write more than $250,000 in checks has been convicted of interstate robbery, federal authorities said.
Steven T. Carr of Newark, N.J., was convicted of interfering with interstate commerce and conspiring to interfere with interstate commerce, U.S. Attorney José Angel Moreno said in a statement.....
