US Mag fighting Superfund designation in court

US Magnesium LLC continues to battle claims by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that its Tooele County, Utah, site houses dangerously high contaminant levels.
Arguing before a federal appeals court earlier this month, the company described as "grossly inflated" the EPA's estimate of contaminant levels at the site.
The EPA added the Utah site to its National Priorities List (NPL) of Superfund sites in November 2009 (AMM, Nov. 4, 2009).
"Placing US Magnesium on the NPL ensures that contamination is addressed and risks to human health and the environment will be controlled," the EPA said on its Web site.....
