Alloy makers fight to hold line on tags

Secondary aluminum alloy producers held prices fairly steady this past week with after small declines in scrap prices and with primary prices staying volatile.

Large producers and traders reported A380.1 alloy transactions between $1.09 and $1.12 per pound, widening the range by a penny from a prior range of $1.10 to $1.12 per pound.

Traders said a number of A380.1 sales had taken place at $1.09 per pound as smaller producers struggled to sell higher as larger producers continued to sell product a few pennies higher. ....
