Mills give lift to deox prices Rochester

Aluminum deox prices rose this month and are expected to continue climbing into next year due to surprisingly strong demand from steel mills, Rochester Aluminum Smelting's president Jerry Golden told AMM.
The upward trend is expected to continue through December and into the first quarter of next year, he predicted.
Early bidding in November for December delivery brought out deox prices at around $1.03 per pound. But last week prices rose to between $1.04 and $1.06 per pound.
"Our average November for December deox price was around 104.5 cents a pound. Since our numbers were quoted higher, we did not receive any of that business. Toward the end of November, as additional mills came into buy, the requirement was higher, and we were able to extract and close out our December sales somewhere between $1.04 and $1.06 per pound."....
