Wisconsin picked as shredder fluff plant site

California's Green Envirotech Corp. has chosen a soon-to-be-shuttered industrial plant in Sheboygan, Wis., as the site where it plans to convert auto shredder fluff into polypropylene and crude oil.
The company is negotiating to buy a 288,000-square-foot plant in the central Wisconsin city, located on the shores of Lake Michigan, according to Gary DeLaurentiis, chief executive officer of Riverbank, Calif.-based Green Envirotech. It is looking to buy the plant from International Automotive Components Inc. (IAC), which makes plastic parts for automotive interiors and is consolidating its operations and plans to shut down the Sheboygan plant.
Several details of the operation have yet to be ironed out. The city is expected to help Green Envirotech uncover a rail spur that had been paved over, in addition to providing funds for training workers. Green Envirotech plans to hire many of the estimated 100 IAC workers who will lose their jobs when the auto parts maker closes the facility.....
