A380 alloy prices under pressure after Aleris cuts selling prices

U.S. secondary aluminum alloy prices are under pressure after Aleris International Inc. dropped its selling price on A380.1 by a few cents per pound last week.
The Beachwood, Ohio-based producer made spot sales last week at between $1.09 and $1.10 per pound, 2 cents below the going market price of $1.11 to $1.12 per pound. Aleris, the largest alloy producer in the United States, usually sells on contract rather than entering the spot market and its prices have traditionally been at the high end of the market, sources said. ....
