Iron and steel orders down in Oct., nonferrous up 2.3%

New orders for iron and steel mills fell 9.5 percent in October, while new orders for aluminum and nonferrous metals rose 2.3 percent, the U.S. Census Bureau reported Friday.
Iron and steel mills' new orders fell to $8.8 billion from nearly $9.8 billion in September, while aluminum and nonferrous metals' new orders rose to $9.9 billion from $9.7 billion, ....
