Rio Tinto beefs up China ties via Chinalco, Sinosteel deals

Rio Tinto has strengthened its China links on two fronts, agreeing to explore for minerals in China with Aluminum Corp. of China (Chinalco) and extending an iron ore joint venture with Sinosteel Corp.
The agreement with Chinalco will see the companies form an exploration joint venture owned 51 percent by Rio Tinto and 49 percent by Chinalco that will begin work in the first half of next year on an initial three to five exploration projects.....
