EPA seeks recovery of costs for salvage scrapyard cleanup

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will try to recover the cost of an emergency cleanup of abandoned materials at a defunct auto salvage operation.

The EPA said it has finished removing hazardous materials, including 244 compressed gas cylinders, 75 drums and other containers as well as contaminated soil at Cadie Auto Salvage in Belvidere,....
