Republic cited by OSHA for alleged safety gaps

Republic Engineered Products Inc. has been cited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for allegedly exposing workers to fall hazards and failing to maintain equipment and walkways at its Canton, Ohio, plant. Proposed penalties total $156,000.

The company "has repeatedly demonstrated a willful disregard for employees' safety by continually failing to provide fall protection and maintain equipment in its steel plants," Rob Medlock, OSHA's area director in Cleveland, said in a statement.....
