DCM boosts ferrochrome output, keeps focus on US

Austrian alloys producer DCM Decometal GmbH has started operating a third ferrochrome furnace at its smelter in Burrel, Albania, with commercial production due to begin in January.
"We've started working on the new Burrel furnace; it will be ready in 45 days," managing director Barry Gidwani told AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin.
DCM has two furnaces in commercial operation at its wholly owned ACR Albanian Chrome subsidiary, fed by high-grade ore from the nearby Bulqiza Mine. It is producing 36,000 tonnes of high-carbon ferrochrome per year, and the newly started furnace could eventually double that rate.....
