U.S. Pipe strike ends, USW OKs previously rejected deal

Unionized workers returned to work Monday at U.S. Pipe & Foundry LLC's Bessemer, Ala., ductile iron pipe and fittings plants after ratifying a new labor deal Saturday, a company spokesman said.
United Steelworkers union Local 2140, which represents steelworkers at Bessemer, agreed to the same contract they had twice rejected before going on strike, a spokesman for parent Mueller Water Products said.
"The terms did not change," he said. "We're glad they ratified the contract . . . and the important thing is they are back at work."....
