USW takes on Severstal NA over removal of equipment

The United Steelworkers union is taking Severstal North America to court to try to prevent the removal of equipment from a union operation in Beech Bottom, W.Va., to a non-union shop in Emporia, Va.
USW Local 1238, which represents workers at Wheeling Corrugating Co.—an operation owned by Dearborn, Mich.-based Severstal NA—is seeking a court injunction against the company to prevent the removal of roll-forming equipment from the plant to the Emporia shop. The union hoped to receive the injunction Monday night.....
