Greenbrier books another $135 million in rail car orders

Greenbrier Cos. has received orders for 2,000 new rail cars valued at approximately $135 million as it continues to rebuild its backlog after a near-devastating loss of business last year from its largest customer.
The Lake Oswego, Ore.-based manufacturer said the orders for various types of hopper cars are scheduled for delivery mainly in 2011. The customer wasn't disclosed.
The latest orders are in addition to those announced in September for 3,200 rail cars—2,250 of which are double-stack intermodal cars—valued at $200 million. In addition to its Gunderson LLC subsidiary in Portland, Ore., which is building most of the intermodal rail cars, the company manufactures cars at two sites in Mexico.....
