Copper drives nonferrous exports up

U.S. nonferrous scrap exports regained momentum in October, almost negating September's slip.
Nonferrous scrap metal shipments rose 2 percent to 287,536 short tons from 281,777 tons in September, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
In September, a stronger dollar and higher prices had pulled volumes down nearly 3 percent from the August pace of 290,486 tons.
October's recovery was fueled by copper's best export performance in more than two years and strong offshore sales of zinc and aluminum scrap.....
