SM Energy says Indian firm not liable in oil well failure

SM Energy Co. doesn't plan to take legal action against Indian oil country tubular goods producer Maharashtra Seamless Ltd. for pipe that purportedly failed in an Oklahoma well.
The Denver-based company currently has no evidence "that there was anything wrong in the manufacturing" of the pipe, according to Jesse R. Pierce of Houston law firm Jesse R. Pierce & Associates, which represents SM Energy.....
