ArcelorMittal moves to brake sheet hikes

ArcelorMittal USA is moving to slow the rapid run-up in sheet steel pricing by guaranteeing customers it will hold the line on pricing through the end of March.
The news came as a sign of relief to some steel buyers, who have been battered with five sheet steel prices totaling about $150 per ton over the past five weeks. Those moves have pushed hot-rolled sheet prices to about $710 per ton at the high end of the spot market from $560 per ton during that five-week span—an increase of some 27 percent.....
