Five states file appeal ruling denying closure of waterways

A new round of legal wrangling over the potential economic impact of the invasive and predatory Asian carp species on Great Lakes fisheries will begin in January.
The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago issued a notice saying it had received an appeal from Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Minnesota, along with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, which was granted intervenor status on the plaintiffs side in the district court case.....
