US, China boost global crude steel production in November

Significant production gains in the United States and in China helped push total global steel production up in November and year to date vs. the same respective year-ago periods, according to the latest statistics from the World Steel Association (WorldSteel).

U.S. crude steel output totaled nearly 6.5 million tonnes in November, up 13 percent from 5.7 million tonnes in the same month last year. That pushed U.S. output for the first 11 months to almost 73.9 million tonnes, a 41.2-percent increase from 52.3 million tonnes in the same period last year.....
