Force majeure on Collahuasi copper sales

Chile's Cia. Minera Dona Ines de Collahuasi SCM (Collahuasi) on Monday declared a force majeure suspension on its copper concentrate sales contracts "until further notice" following an incident over the weekend that killed three maintenance workers at its Patache port.

"The shiploader suffered an unexpected structural failure causing the death of three maintenance workers, which Collahuasi deeply regrets, and severe damage to key elements of the loading facilities," Collahuasi said in a statement. "Collahuasi is evaluating the extent of the....
