Molycorp ties up with Hitachi for alloy production

Molycorp Inc. is exploring a joint venture with Japanese permanent magnet manufacturer Hitachi Metals Ltd. as it looks to expand into rare earth alloy and magnet production.
The company said it has entered into an agreement ahead of a planned formation of joint ventures with Hitachi, which operates a wholly-owned subsidiary, Hitachi Metals America Ltd.,....
