Aleris jettisons sole scrap collection assets in Brazil

Aleris International Inc. has completed the sale of its lone Brazilian operation to MCN Empreendimentos e Participacoes Ltda., the company said Thursday.
The transaction included assets associated with 11 scrap collection centers located throughout Brazil and two melting sites in Pindamonhangaba, Brazil.
The decision to sell the operation was made since it didn't fit well with the group's overall growth strategy, a company source told AMM.....
