Secondary aluminum alloy prices firm

Secondary aluminum alloy prices have firmed, emerging strong from two weeks of inventory management, with rising scrap prices and improving terminal markets strengthening the tags.
The flagship A380.1 alloy inched up 1 cent to a range of $1.11 to $1.12 per pound from $1.10 to $1.12 per pound.
Low copper alloys like A413.1 and A360.1 stood in a range of $1.20 to $1.22 per pound Thursday, up 2 cents from a week earlier when producers had dropped prices to lows of $1.18 in hopes of thinning inventories for the financial year-end.
Alloys like 319.1 and 356.1 also picked up ground to trade 2 cents higher. While 319.1 prices firmed to between $1.16 and $1.18 per pound, 356.1 prices rose to between $1.22 and $1.24 per pound. A week earlier, 319.1 had drifted to a low of $1.14 per pound and 356.1 to between $1.20 and $1.23 per pound.....
