Shredded exports to China rebound

A Chinese buying frenzy helped boost U.S. exports of shredded scrap by nearly 275,000 tonnes in October.
Overall shipments climbed to 798,143 tonnes, up 52.5 percent from 523,465 tonnes delivered to foreign steelmakers in September, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Commerce Department. The October tonnage was the highest monthly total since August 2009, when 878,138 tonnes were sent abroad.
China re-emerged as the biggest buyer, taking 213,870 tonnes from U.S. suppliers in October—up dramatically from the meager 4,157 tonnes it bought the previous month and its highest one-month total since November last year.....
