Iowa recycler is accused of environmental violations

After reaching a settlement with one recycler over alleged environmental violations, Iowa authorities have accused another recycler of improper storage and disposal of solid and liquid waste.
The Iowa state government has filed a lawsuit against Larimer-based The Junkyard for alleged violations dating back to 2003, state Attorney General Tom Miller said in a statement.
Among other allegations, the company purportedly failed to remove fluids from vehicles before crushing them, after which it neither cleaned up the spills immediately nor informed the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) of the spills.....
