Hatch to implement Rio aluminum project

Hatch Canada Ltd. announced Wednesday it will implement the first phase of Rio Tinto Alcan's AP60 project in Quebec's Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region in a 50-50 joint venture with SNC-Lavalin Engineers & Constructors Ltd.
The $758-million project will include 38 pots with an annual production capacity of 60,000 tonnes, the engineering company said. AP60 technology is more energy efficient and will deliver 40-percent higher output per pot than....
