Collahuasi eyes Patache port alternative

Chilean copper miner Cia. Minera Dona Ines de Collahuasi SCM (Collahuasi) will seek alternatives to shipping copper concentrate out of the Patache port after suspending operations at the facility following a fatal accident.
The Dec. 18 accident resulted in the death of three employees of FL Smidth, a subcontractor of Collahuasi operating at the port, as well as extensive damage to the shiploading infrastructure. Collahuasi declared force majeure on copper concentrate obligations....
