TRW ramping up production of steering systems in China

TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. on Monday said it has landed contracts to supply electric power steering (EPS) systems to domestic Chinese vehicle manufacturers, with the first launch scheduled for 2012.
TRW will initially supply four domestic manufacturers with its Column Drive EPS system for multiple platforms from its new factory in Anting, China.
Last year, the Livonia, Mich.-based company announced plans to localize production of its electric steering technology in China for a leading global vehicle manufacturer, according to Peter Lake, executive vice president of sales and business development.....
