Arch Coal, Grande Cache lowering met coal forecast

Production delays and logistical issues have prompted two metallurgical coal companies to lower their production forecasts.
Arch Coal Inc., which has committed 3 million tons of met coal for 2011 delivery, said it was forced to lower its 2010 guidance due to an idled longwall and rail problems.
"Lower shipment levels, partially driven by poor Eastern rail service, contributed to the guidance revision for 2010," chairman and chief executive officer Steven F. Leer said. The company did not indicate the amount of the projected shortfall. ....
