Alaska natives and fishermen have received a very special valentine and a pledge of gold .?.?. well, actually, no gold. For this year's Valentine's Day, the top-selling holiday for gold jewelry in the United States, 54 jewelers representing more than $5.75 billion in annual sales have pledged not to use gold from the proposed Pebble Mine at the headwaters of Bristol Bay in southwest Alaska.
