Nucor breaks ground on DRI facility

PITTSBURGH Nucor Corp. has moved forward in its plans to build a new direct-reduced iron (DRI) plant in Louisiana, including naming a general manager for the new operation.
The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker Monday broke ground in St. James Parish, La., on the new DRI facility with ceremonies attended by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Stephen Moret, the states economic development secretary, and Nucor chairman and chief executive officer Daniel R. DiMicco.....
